THIGH HIGHS AND TRAINS

Thursday 8 September 2016

THIGH HIGHS AND TRAIN DELAYS.

Hello everyone, welcome back to my little space on the internet. Glad to see you again!

So I'm currently writing this post from my iPhone at Liverpool st station waiting for my very delayed train back home (ugh I hate commuting).
However I have a super sassy look for you all today. I hope you enjoy!

These lovely thigh highs are from a fab company called 4thandreckless
They specialise in shoes and do really have an amazing range!
These pair are actually out of stock at the moment... As fabulous as they are , however I would recommend looking at other items on their website as they have just got a bunch of new season shoes.

In my opinion this look can gather some mixed views (along with everything else in life).
Some might say it's distasteful , others might say it's too risqué and the wonderful brilliant people in the world will know it's slays!
I borrowed my boyfriends jacket as it felt like the missing piece to my fabulous puzzle aha.
No seriously i love it! If you ever want to look super edgy just get a camo jacket. This one was from 10deep.
As always thanks for reading guys, everything will be tagged below. Hope you're having a better Thursday than me because waiting 1h30 for a train back home is not fun.
Jacket-10deep/  Skort (yes Skort ) -boohoo/ Top- Thrifted / Thigh Highs- 4thandreckless

BLOG FAILS

We don't always get it right...

Hello Guys, so i was looking through my pictures and couldn't stop laughing at all my old photos and recent blog post fails, so i decided to share this with you. I know i cannot really depict what happened on the day to you but i do hope you enjoy looking at my bad pictures because i sure did aha.

Most recently...
It was a little nerve-racking doing a shoot near the road because it was rammed with so many cars and obviously people kept looking at the v tasty camera that was shooting me. It's such a shame because i do like the outfit but it did nothing for my body.

 Additionally...
Yes, i was sitting on a fence outside a house i shared with some err lovely people... :) again this was such a fail but i loved the outfit, for some reason i was just never big on the results and this little gem is still sitting in my drafts...

 Two years ago...
Shock, blonde is not my natural hair colour... aha yes, there was a time before i was blonde and used to rock my natural hair all the time (then i went really natural and now have a fro instead of chemically relaxed hair). Let's just thank God that my photography has come a long way...
 Harry Potter anyone?
I have no words for this look...

Hope you guys enjoyed looking at some of my blog fails, trust there's a lot more. Not every blogger is perfect and i cannot pretend to be so.

LIFE TALKS: Happiness is a journey

Friday 12 August 2016

LIFE TALKS WITH SARAH.

*a little more insight into my mind, my life talks tend to be a reflection of my experiences, this is one of my little gems taken from my drafts which i'm finally ready to share*

Happiness is a continuous journey. Here's mine.
Hello People! Welcome back to my long abandoned but dearly loved (by myself) space on the internet. With life moving so fast i haven't really had a chance to write... Okay so what happened? rewind to 1st January 2016, i set myself some resolutions (sad i know), some i have achieved and others not so much but i still have 6 more months- watch this space. So i want to talk about happiness today...
With the new year blooming i wanted to grow as a person internally, i noticed that at uni i didn't really fit in any groups- kind of a floater which i have always been and before uni i was so content with this. However university is a giant bubble and is so easy to get sucked and even easier to feel lonely. After heavy reflection of my first year i realised that i had become dependant on others to provide happiness for me and this was not good! Basically my head space was heavily clouded by a lot of negativity...
I was on a quest for happiness and self love! I started exercising more and distanced myself from certain people and had also made the conscious effort to meet people who i actually wanted to be around. Eventually i started to see the that the little changes i had made had actually made my outlook on life/university more positive. I decided to stop overthinking everything, stressing about things i cannot change and dropped people that drained me (i am actually very brutal when i let people go lol, i'm working on my tolerance).
"You can chose to be happy" was a statement i hated hearing because i didn't understand that my happiness was entirely dependant on me. Even when i was annoyed at someone i didn't realise that really it was my reaction that made me unhappy. So what am i saying? Happiness is journey, its not a straight road but it's something that's definitely worth stepping out of your bubble for.

  1. Decide to live your life for yourself
  2. Target the source of negativity, cut it out and make the various conscious effort (specific to yourself) to change.
  3. Understand that happiness is a choice.

Thanks for readings

p.s. this post intentionally avoided the topic of depression. I cannot speak on what i do not know about. I have no intentions to offend anyone with my words. I am simply speaking on my personal journey.

MOTIVATION MONDAY.

Hey guys, so I've been trying to post this look all week and i don't know what happened to blogger... lol. So i decided to just re-write the whole thing so it's fresh.

I was feeling super fierce when i did this shoot (last week) and felt like i could do anything- literally. So i wanted to share some fierceness and encouragement with you guys today. Also, thank you so much for all the support this past month! It's great to be back blogging again.
This is one of my fav poems by Countee Cullen
"Hey Black Child

Do you know who you are
Who you really are
Do you know you can be
What you want to be
If you try to be
What you can be

Hey Black Child
Do you know where you are going
Where you're really going
Do you know you can learn
What you want to learn
If you try to learn
What you can learn
Hey Black Child
Do you know you are strong
I mean really strong
Do you know you can do
What you want to do
If you try to do
What you can do
Hey Black Child
Be what you can be
Learn what you must learn
Do what you can do
And tomorrow your nation
Will be what you what it to be"

LIFE TALKS: LET GO

Thursday 21 July 2016

Letting Go.

 Life Talks #2.

“Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.”
― Stephen KingRita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption: A Story from Different Seasons
Hello guys, my name is Sarah and i like to talk about fashion and advice. In this post i will be talking about something the majority of us struggle with... and that's letting go. When i use the term 'letting go' it is not fixated to just one thing, this ranges from a wide spectrum of things. Basically anything that bothers you and you find difficult to forget and forgive.

Personally letting go used to be a huge problem for me, i found it difficult to forgive people who did me wrong. However when i realised that i was the only one hurting, this soon became common practice for me to let go. You just look and feel so much happier when you only focus on the positive things in life.  I could sit here and give you guys various and entertaining sob stories but laughing at my outrageous behaviour won't help you aha. So here are some tips on how to let go and let God.

 5 Tips on moving forward.

  1. Cry it out- yes cry it all out. Get rid of any feelings built up. Crying is very normal, so no excuses not to show your feelings lads ;)
  2. Change your perception - see this (whatever it is) as a blessing in disguise.
  3. Focus your energy on something you can actually control.
  4. Make a list of all your accomplishments, no matter how small and try and add to it as often as you can.
  5. Most importantly for all my spiritual people out there, just trust in God.

BELL SLEEVES & BRIGHT.

Friday 15 July 2016

 BELL SLEEVES & BRIGHT.

I stepped out of my comfort zone with this...

So today, i decided to try something. As 2016 is the year of growth, i have been wearing colour more often and i kinda like it *gasps*. This little ensemble from boohoo was only £7!!! So i had to get it. I love that it is off-shoulder and has the bell sleeves for a modern 70's look. As you guys probably have realised, the off-shoulder and bell sleeved look has become the summer 16 trend. I'm not a huge fan of trends because that's simply what it is- a trend. It dies out after a few months and so much money gets wasted, however i do believe that this is a style that will last a long time- kinda like the metallic tattoos. Therefore, yes, it is a good investment. So if you fancy looking all summery and bright then i suggest going for a bold colour and a bell sleeve!

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend!

Don't forget to leave comments and links to your blogs, i fancy reading a few!

LIFE TALKS: CONFIDENCE

Thursday 7 July 2016

LIFE TALKS: CONFIDENCE

"I'm not shy. i'm just holding back my awesomeness so i don't intimidate you" - Anon

Hey guys, as you may know i will be doing a series which i call "life talks". I realised i love my style as well as giving advice so i thought why not do both? Also when we did the shoot we were kinda pressed for time i totally forgot to stand up and get full body shots but i'm still very happy with the results.

Okay so how to be confident?

For a long time i couldn't quite understand why having confidence was such a problem for people (this was when i was very young and dumb and didn't know about anxiety etc) but now i am older and slightly wiser i totally get it. Anxiety sucks. So here are some methods that could help to improve your confidence.

3 STEPS TOWARDS CONFIDENCE.
  1. Start the day with GRATITUDE.  If you begin the day with some grateful thoughts then you are likely to set up your day in a positive way. Therefore the happier you are the more confident you become.
  2. Chose your friends wisely. It sounds so basic and that's because it is aha. It's simple, surround yourself with positive and ambitious people and some of their charisma is likely to rub off on you.
  3. Take a daily step out of your comfort zone. This is something we all struggle with, we get so content in our little bubble doing whatever and forget that there's actually a world out there, The more chances you take, the more confident you become.
